Q. Do you need to be a resident of the City of Quincy, MA in order to sign up.
A. Yes. All players must be Quincy residents.
Q: What age does my child have to be to play Houghs Neck T-Ball?
A. Houghs Neck T-ball is open to children from age 3 to 7. Your child must be 3 on January 1, 2008 in order to play in the 2008 season. Birth Certificates will be required beginning with the 2009 season.
Q. Will my 3 year old be playing with 7 year olds?
A. No. Children are grouped based on the year of their birth. Here are the 2008 age breakdowns.
Born in 2000, 2001, 2002 will be playing together.
Born in 2003 and 2004 will be playing together.
Q. Is this a “Drop-Off” program?
A. No, parents are required to stay at the field with their children.
Q: When does Houghs Neck T-ball play their games?
A: Our games are played on Saturday mornings at 9:00am.
Q: How long does the season run?
A: Our season runs for eight weeks, beginning mid to late April.
Q: How much is the cost for registration?
A: Registration for the 2008 season is $25.00 per child. Registration fee is payable by cash or personal check. Checks should be made payable to Houghs Neck T-Ball. A fee of $15.00 will be charged for all returned checks.
Q: Do you offer discounts for multiple children from the same family?
A: At this time we do not offer family discounts.
Q: What does my registration fee get my child?
A: Each player receives a shirt, a hat and a trophy at the end of the season.
Q: How long are the games?
A: Games last about 40 minutes.
Q: Does my child need to know anything about baseball to play?
A: Absolutely not. Houghs Neck T-ball is very low key. Games do not have many rules that the kids need to follow. It’s all about having fun!
Q: What equipment will my child need?
A: A baseball glove is the only equipment that you will need to provide for your child. Bats, balls, bases and t’s are all provided by Houghs Neck T-ball.
Q. Is parking available?
A. Limited parking is available at Labrecque Field. Overflow parking is available at the Atherton Hough School. If you live in the neighborhood, consider walking to the field. Please be respectful of our neighbors by not blocking their driveways.
